Charter Services FAQ

Do you offer private charter shuttle service?

Private Charter Shuttles are offered anywhere within BC. Popular routes include Kamloops Airport, Kelowna Airport, Big White, Silver Star, Revelstoke, Vancouver, Whistler and Blue River. Private charter shuttle rates are based on the size of the vehicle. A one-hour grocery stop can be added on to the service, with an additional charge. What is your cancellation policy for private charters?

Charter quotes are based on the confirmed itinerary. Any changes requested outside of 72 hours of the requested date of service are subject to full forfeiture of the reservation charge. All refunds are subject to forfeiture of 10% of the booking fee due to processing charges.

Do you offer inter resort shuttles?

Shared Inter Resort Shuttles are only offered for the following areas – Kelowna Airport, Big White and Silver Star. This service runs once per day, and has a requirement of a minimum of 4 passengers.

The minimum 4 passenger requirement can be met in one of 2 ways:

  1. If you are booking for less than 4 passengers, then you can be added to a waitlist to see if other passengers book for the same date to fulfill the minimum 4 passenger requirement. It’s the passenger’s responsibility to call our office to check if the minimum passenger requirement has been met. If the minimum passenger requirement is not met 7 days prior to the date of service, the shuttle service will not operate on that day. Note: passengers are not charged while on the waitlist; payment is only taken if the service is completed.
  2. If 4 passengers are not booked for your required date of transfer, passengers are able to purchase 4 seats on the shuttle to ensure that the service operates on that date. If 4 seats are purchased by 1 passenger and other passengers do book for the same date to fulfill the minimum passenger requirement, then the cost will be refunded and distributed amongst all traveling passengers.

How do I confirm my booking?

Sun Star shuttle requests that all passengers call our office at 250-554-8005 at least 24 hours prior to your pick-up time to reconfirm your departure transfer details. Please note that all online bookings are not to be considered confirmed until a confirmation is received from Sun Star Shuttle. Verbal confirmations are possible by calling our office during business hours.

How far in advance should I make my shuttle booking?

Shuttle services are provided for advanced confirmed bookings only. Winter bookings (November 1-March 31) must be reserved at least 48 hours in advance. Summer bookings (April 1- October 31) must be reserved at least 72 hours in advance.

What information do I need to make a shuttle booking?

Guests must provide their flight number, arrival/departure time and date, number of passengers, accommodation and check-in location upon booking.

What is your shuttle refund or cancellation policy?

The full deposit is refundable if a reservation is cancelled before 48 hours, prior to the pick-up time. Deposits are non-refundable if a cancellation is made within 48 hours of the pick-up time. All refunds are subject to forfeiture of 10% of the booking fee due to processing charges.

I booked a shuttle for pick up at the Kamloops Airport. Where do I go?

Upon arrival at Kamloops airport, please collect your baggage and please approach the driver holding the ‘Sun Star Shuttle’. Our shuttle drivers will be waiting to meet you with a ‘Sun Star Shuttle’ sign. Drivers always have a list of passenger names, flight information and location of drop-off (accommodation in Sun Peaks).

What happens if my flight is delayed or cancelled and I have a shuttle booked?

In the event of flight delays/cancellations/missed connections, all customers are required to contact our office immediately at 250-554-8005 to provide an updated time of their arrival. Passengers will then be transported on the next available shuttle. We request that passengers wait in the arrival area (by the baggage carousel) and the shuttle drivers will approach the passengers or announce their names in the PA system. If there is not another scheduled airport transfer for the day, Sun Star Shuttle will not be financially responsible for the guests’ transportation. Sun Star Shuttle will not be responsible if a guest misses their YKA departure due to bad road conditions, passengers loading late, or mechanical issues, or any other conditions. This is also applicable to bus delays and transfers.

What happens if my checked bag didn’t make it?

In the event of lost baggage, passengers are required to first check-in with the shuttle driver, then report to the airline.

When does the shuttle pick me up from Sun Peaks Resort to take me to the Kamloops Airport?

The Kamloops Shuttle begins pick-up at your Sun Peaks Accommodations up to 30 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time. This is to ensure that all guests depart Sun Peaks at the correct departure time. If you are unable to depart 30 minutes prior to your scheduled time, our shuttle service will not be responsible for waiting, as one delay will delay the resort departure time. Passengers will not be eligible for refund and will be responsible for their own transportation to the airport if they are not ready to board the shuttle 30 minutes prior to the shuttle departure time. Sun Star shuttle requests that all passengers call our office at 250-554-8005 at least 24 hours prior to your pick-up time to reconfirm your departure transfer details.

How do I get a shuttle from the Kamloops bus terminal?

A shuttle will not be dispatched for passengers arriving via bus until passengers call our office (250-554-8005) upon arrival to the Kamloops bus terminals. Passengers will be transferred to Kamloops airport where they will then be transferred on the next available Shuttle to Sun Peaks.

In case of a Bus Delay, we require that passengers contact us immediately to provide an updated time of arrival. If there is not another scheduled airport transfer for the day, then transfer will be considered a non-refundable cancellation and Sun Star Shuttle will not be financially responsible for the passenger’s transportation.

What is your COVID 19 policy?

We require that all customers wear a mask at all times and that no food or drinks are permitted on the bus.

All vehicles are frequently sanitized with a fogging machine.

All shuttle drivers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

How can I pay for my booking?

Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted for payment

5% GST is applicable for all services

Debit Cards are not accepted.

Full payment is required at the time of both winter and summer bookings.

Can I take my children on the shuttle?

Children must be accompanied by an adult that is 19 years or older.Sun Star shuttle is not responsible for providing car seats. We highly recommend that passengers bring their own car seats.

What is the baggage allowance?

1 luggage bag, 1 ski and 1 boot bag, 1 carry on. Baggage will only be transferred for paying guests.
